Events in Pittsfield, MA

Pittsfield is the county seat and the biggest city in the Berkshires, which means it has actual nightlife instead of just summer programming.

The Colonial Theatre is a 1903 gilded-age concert hall with pristine acoustics and 780 seats. Inside it: The Garage, a smaller stage for local and regional music and comedy. Barrington Stage Company is Tony Award–winning theater with two stages and a season that runs into winter. The Berkshire International Film Festival (BIFF) runs out of the Beacon Cinema downtown every May — indie and arthouse, queer-friendly programming.

Hot Plate Brewing on North Street is the closest thing Pittsfield has to a queer neighborhood bar — regular Pride events, DJ nights, open mics, First Fridays. Berkshire Pride holds most of their events in Pittsfield. The Stationery Factory in Dalton (five minutes away) is the queer dance party venue — Pride nights, drag shows, DJ BFG.
